April 23, 1564—the day William Shakespeare was born in Stratford-upon-Avon. Little could his parents have known the impact he was to have on the world.

Come and celebrate this very special day at the NAC! Families and children of all ages are invited to drop by and enjoy hands-on activities and excerpts from some of Shakespeare’s best-loved plays performed by professional actors and community groups. Try some of the food that Shakespeare himself might have enjoyed on his birthday, and help blow out the candles on a delicious birthday cake! Rumour has it that Queen Elizabeth I herself will pay a royal visit for the occasion.
