Separate Agency Census

The Canada Public Service Agency (CPSA) is conducting a data gathering exercise this November via an on-line survey, targeted to employees in the executive community (EC, EX and EX PCX), executive equivalents (e.g. ES-07 and CS-05) and members of executive feeder groups (executive minus 1s (e.g. PM-06 and AS-07) and minus 2s (e.g. PM-05, AS-06 and MG-05). Three of the schedule V separate agencies have agreed to participate: the Canada Revenue Agency, Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Parks Canada. These separate agencies represent approximately 80% of the population.

Information gathered will assist in integrated planning for your department / agency, as well as across the Public Service to ensure that the Public Service is properly positioned to meet future needs of the Canadian public.
The census will take place this November via an on-line survey. Members of the targeted audience will receive an email from EKOS Research Associates, who is administering the census on CPSA’s behalf. The email will provide a Web link to access the questionnaire and instructions. It should take only about 20 minutes to complete the questionnaire. Responses will be anonymous, and the CPSA will receive only aggregate data.
The larger the number of respondents, the more useful the information will be. I would appreciate you taking the time to complete this questionnaire, as the information will be useful for integrated planning and talent management taking place within our organization. Provided there are sufficient numbers to ensure anonymity, we will provide individualized departmental reports.

Here is a backgrounder and questions and answers, including a contact person at the CPSA should you have any questions about the administration or coordination of this census.
You can obtain further information on the administration and coordination of the census by contacting Linda Scourtoudis, Manager, Leadership Policy, The Leadership Network, CPSA, by e-mail at linda.scourtoudis@cpsa-afpc.gc.ca
or by phone at 613-996-1928.

I would like to thank you for your contribution to this census, and for your ongoing commitment to renewal of the Public Service.
