Strategic Science and Operations

The mandate of the Strategic Science Operations is to foster and advance management excellence and facilitate program delivery through greater coordination and integration, sound stewardship and accountability, better performance measurement and reporting, and enhanced knowledge and information management.

Specifically SSO is responsible for:

• Providing support to SEP Bureaux by developing, setting-up and administering management processes, frameworks and quality systems to facilitate strategic and operational planning, enhance financial stewardship and accountability, ensure sound human resources management, address and manage corporate risks, measure and track performance and report results, and facilitate the storage and flow of corporate knowledge and information across the Programme
   
• The Chemical Management Plan (CMP) Integrated Program Management Office that reports to the Heath Canada Chemicals Management Executive Committee and is responsible along with Environment Canada for developing, coordinating and integrating horizontal management issues and scientific activities across both Departments by facilitating the development and administration of a governance and management accountability framework that will guide the decision making, delivery and performance of the CMP
