Advisory Committee on Paperwork Burden Reduction (ACPBR)

The Advisory Committee on Paperwork Burden Reduction (ACPBR) has 14 members, representing both the public and private sectors, including small business owners, business associations, and government departments and agencies.

ACPBR members collectively demonstrate a high level of interest in and dedication to addressing the issue of paperwork burden. Members are generally knowledgeable in the domain of small business development and related services, regulation and related fields of work (e.g. business policy, financial and management accounting, corporate governance and public sector management). Members bring their objective professional judgement to matters brought to the Committee as a whole, as well as submit the perspectives and positions of the organizations or associations they represent.

Public sector representatives on the ACPBR typically work at the Assistant Deputy Minister level, and are drawn from federal departments having significant regulatory mandates or oversight responsibility. Two members represent provincial governments.

Private sector members include representatives from national business associations familiar with small business issues such as the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB), the Alliance of Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME), and the Canadian Payroll Association (CPA). Other members from the private sector include entrepreneurs/executives who work in a small firm with fewer than 100 employees.
