This plan outlines the federal government’s spending for 2005 and the near future. It includes a $5-billion investment in early learning and child care; $5 billion for climate change and the environment; $735 million to address the urgent needs of First Nations communities; the elimination of the corporate surtax in 2008; and the reduction of the corporate income tax rate by two percentage points by 2010.
