NACOcast - 22.01.2007 - Andrew Litton

January 23, 2007 -

Christopher chats with American guest conductor Andrew Litton. Having just completed his twelfth and final season as Music Director of the Dallas Symphony, New York-born Andrew Litton is continuing in this partnership, one of the longest and most successful in America, as Music Director Emeritus of the orchestra. Litton is also the Music Director of Norway's Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, the Artistic Director of the Minnesota Orchestra's Sommerfest and Conductor Laureate of Britain's Bournemouth Symphony. Litton's more than 60 recordings include the Grammy winning Walton's Belshazzar's Feast with Bryn Terfel and the Bournemouth Symphony. Litton and the Bergen Philharmonic have just initiated a recording relationship with BIS records, with a forthcoming release of Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet. A complete set of the Four Symphonies of Charles Ives with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra will be released this year on Hyperion.
