"Behind the Music" performance-chat with Jessica Linnebach

OTTAWA -- The Friends of the National Arts Centre Orchestra present a performance/lecture with the NAC Orchestra's talented young violinist Jessica Linnebach as the final event in its popular Saturday morning "Behind the Music" series of the 2006-07 season on Saturday, June 9 at 10:30 a.m. in the NAC Salon. The hour-long presentation will be followed by Coffee and refreshments.

Jessica Linnebach will discuss her career as a soloist, chamber music player, and member of the National Arts Centre Orchestra, and will also perform Eugene Ysaye's Sonata No. 2 for Solo Violin and the third and fourth movements of Bach's Third Sonata for Violin. A member of the Orchestra since 2003, Ms. Linnebach began her violin studies in Edmonton at the age of two. At the age of ten she was accepted as a student at the internationally renowned Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia of which she remains one of its youngest ever graduates. She then went on to earn her Master of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music at the age of nineteen. Ms. Linnebach, who has won numerous awards, has toured extensively in Canada and abroad, and is a member of the Zukerman Chamber Players.

Jessica Linnebach will be performing on the 1700 Taft Stradivarius violin which she won the loan of through the latest Canada Council for the Arts Musical Instrument Bank Competition.

Tickets are $12.00 for Friends, $14.00 for non-members, and $6.00 for students.
