"For Your Information" series goes behind the scenes at the National Arts Centre Orchestra with Orchestra Manager Chris Dearlove on Saturday, January 17
January 12, 2004 -
For the second in this year's National Arts Centre's Orchestra Association (NACOA) "FYI" presentations on Saturday, January 17 at 10:30 in the NAC Salon, Chris Dearlove, Orchestra Manager, will talk about what goes on when a large group of musicians - and their instruments - take to the road as they did in their recent highly acclaimed United States and Mexico tour. Chris has many tales to tell, and they will give a rounded picture of the trials, tribulations and rewards that go with the great music the audiences hear.
"For Your Information" is a four-part series designed to give people a better understanding of their orchestra and musicians. The sessions are held in the NAC Salon on Saturday mornings, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. All proceeds benefit the Orchestra's music education programmes and the National Arts Centre Young Artists Programme NACOA scholarship.
The two remaining sessions will be held on March 13 and May 8.
