Low Cost Country Sourcing
Industry Canada partnered with the Supply Chain & Logistics Association of Canada (SCL), the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters Association (CME) and the Retail Council of Canada to develop research on global sourcing. The analysis allows manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers to better understand the current trends and to benchmark certain key performance indicators KPI of LCCS within their own specific sector. These reports identifies industry perspectives, issues and drivers pertaining to LCCS and supplychain agility which enables policy makers to more effectively develop policies that respond to current and future industry needs.

Supply Chain Perspective:

Logistics and Supply Chain Management (SCM) Key Performance Indicators (KPI) Analysis
The objective of this study is to propose a Logistics and SCM key performance indicators (KPI) analysis that can be used as a benchmarking tool for firms and policy makers. This analysis will help firms understand where they are located with respect to leading enterprises, as well as firms within their own sector and the U.S and what steps they must undertake in order to become more competitive.

Supply Chain Perspective:

Logistics and Supply Chain Management (SCM) Cost and Agility Assessment Tool and Case Study (May 2007)
This assessment tool defines the three components of logistics and SCM cost; classifies logistics and SCM cost activities categories and their respective components; and presents relative data which allows users to benchmark their logistics and SCM cost and agility against industry averages and other key player (s).

This profile describes the industrial structure, the Canadian logistics and supply chain management performance indicators and the key business drivers.

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Beyond Customer Mandate
This joint research project conducted by Industry Canada, Supply Chain & Logistics Canada (SCL) and industry leaders across sectors aims to provide guidance to small and medium-sized enterprises and their large customers about the benefits of supply chain industrial sustainability and RFID applications beyond customer mandates.
