Lists of Names subject to sanctions under the Regulations Implementing the United Nations Resolution on the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the Regulations Implementing the United Nations Resolution on Iran
(Please note: The following lists have been developed in conjunction with the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) and reflect designations made by the United Nations Security Council under Resolutions 1718 (2006) and 1737 (2006). Please contact OSFI if you have questions or comments about the lists; we will forward the information to the appropriate parties.)
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- As of this date, designations have only been made under the Regulations Implementing the United Nations Resolution on Iran (UNSC Resolution 1737)
- The only sanctions that require reporting to OSFI or to provincial regulators are those relating to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and to Iran. However, Canadian financial institutions also have obligations under various other sanctions applied pursuant to the United Nations Act. These have been previously communicated by OSFI as well as by DFAIT.
