Federal Innovation Infrastructure - Automotive Sector

AUTO21 - the automotive-focused network of the Network of Centres of Excellence Program NCE which brings together a nation-wide, multi-disciplinary research partnerships with industry, universities and research centres by supporting research in a range of areas including manufacturing, emissions, fuels, materials, safety and social issues related to automobiles.

• Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI)
  An independent corporation established by the federal government to strengthen Canadian capability for research.
• Canadian Lightweight Materials Research Initiative
  Coordinates research and development of materials and processes for weight reduction in transportation applications.
• Electronic Commerce in Canada
  Details the the electronic commerce strategy of the Canadian government.
• Institute for Robotics and Intelligent Systems (IRIS)
  Promoting high-quality collaborative applied research in intelligent systems, thereby improving the competitiveness of Canadian firms.
• Technology Partnerships Canada
  TPC recognizes that developing new technology is a high-risk venture, and therefore makes investments in projects that would not otherwise proceed within the desired scope, timing and location.
• Technology Inflow Program
  To assist Canadian companies to bring foreign technology into Canada.

• Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED;) Program
  The purpose of this program is to provide income tax incentives to Canadian businesses that conduct scientific research and experimental development in Canada.
