2007 RCMP Sunset Ceremonies begin soon!

OTTAWA, June 14, 2007 — The Royal Canadian Mounted Police is pleased to invite the media and the public to experience the 2007 Canadian Sunset Ceremonies from June 27 to July 1 inclusive.

The theme of this year’s performance is "Literacy.”

Rain or shine, free performances will run nightly from 7 - 9 p.m. at the RCMP stables located at the Canadian Police College on St. Laurent Blvd. North.

The grounds can be accessed via OC Transpo route #7. Free parking is available directly off the Rockcliffe Parkway, however, space is very limited.

Proceeds donated by the crowd will be given to CanWest Raise-a-Reader.

Each night, spectators will be treated to a wide variety of performances including the world famous Musical Ride and the signature Sunset Ceremony.

This year’s media sponsors are: CTV, Majic 100, 580 CFRA, 104,7 FM, The Ottawa Citizen, TVA - CHOT, Le Droit and 97,1 Couleur FM.

Bring a blanket or lawn chair, and be sure to dress for the elements as the show will go on except in exceptionally bad weather. The grounds are wheelchair accessible. Food, beverages and souvenirs may be purchased on the grounds.
