Regimental Funeral for RCMP Constable Christopher Worden - Media Advisory

OTTAWA, Ontario – October 12, 2007 – A regimental funeral for RCMP Constable (Cst.) Christopher Worden, who was killed in the line of duty while serving in Hay River, Northwest Territories, will be held in Ottawa on October 15th. 

WHERE: Notre Dame Basilica, 385 Sussex Drive, Ottawa

WHEN: Monday, October 15, 1:30 p.m.

WHAT: At the wishes of the family, no special accommodations will be made inside Notre Dame Basilica for media.  Media can make arrangements to set up outside the church and link into live audio and video feeds of the service.

While members of the public will be able to attend the regimental funeral for Cst. Worden, seating will be extremely limited.  The public will also be able to view a live broadcast of the service on a large screen located outside the church.  A private interment will follow the funeral.

Members of the public can expect traffic delays on the parade route between Parliament Hill and Notre Dame Basilica during the hours of 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
