Welcome to the home page of the Royal St. John's Regatta, re-scheduled for Friday August 8th, 2008 at Quidi Vidi Lake in St. John's, Newfoundland & Labrador.
This historic regatta is the oldest continuing sporting event in North America. The event continues to draw in excess of 50,000 spectators each year and is a major focal point of summer activities in the St. John's area.
Please note: In addition to this website, a great deal of information on the History of the Royal St. John's Regatta may be found by visiting the Government of Canada's Collections Canada website entitled "The History of the Royal St. John's Regatta Project". Click here to visit that site.
In the end, the 190th Royal St. John's Regatta was well worth the wait. The crews, participants, and spectators were treated to a 'classic' on Quidi-vidi culminating with two classic Championship Races.
