On the return trip, the Chaleur leaves Gaspé in the afternoon to arrive at Montréal the next morning.

Another train, the Ocean, after leaving the Chaleur at Chaleur Bay, heads south across New Brunswick and Nova Scotia to arrive in Halifax around mid-afternoon.
