Colorectal cancer is a major health issue for Canadians. It is estimated that 20,000 new cases of colorectal cancer were diagnosed in 2006 and approximately 8,500 died from the disease. As Minister of Health, I urge Canadians to learn about the risks of colorectal cancer, and to discuss the benefits of colorectal cancer screening with a physician. Increased awareness and screening can reduce the number of people who are diagnosed with colorectal cancer each year. « More
