Ottawa, April 23, 2002 - A fraudulent news release, entitled Violation of Social Insurance Numbers and dated April 22, 2002, which was purported to have been sent out by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, has been faxed to some organizations. This news release was not disseminated by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
