Human Rights, organized by the Atlantic Human Rights Centre at St.
Thomas University, Fredericton, New Brunswick. The title of the speech

- The Privacy Commissioner
of Canada's Charter challenge against RCMP video surveillance
of public streets will begin this week in the Supreme Court of British
Columbia in Kelowna, with a hearing on the federal Government's
motion to dismiss the case.

- The Privacy Commissioner
of Canada today made public the following letter that he sent to the
Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada on February 20,
2003. He has to date received no reply. The Privacy Commissioner's
Charter challenge against RCMP video surveillance of public streets
will begin next Wednesday, March 12, in the Supreme Court of British
Columbia in Kelowna, with a hearing on the federal Government's
motion to dismiss the case.

of Canada has received the following letter from Mr. John Reynolds,
M.P., Official Opposition House Leader. The letter is a copy of a
letter Mr. Reynolds has sent to the Prime Minister on the subject
of the Privacy Commissioner's Annual Report, which was tabled last
week.

in which he issues a "solemn and urgent warning" that the Federal
Government is on a path that threatens to wipe out key privacy rights

Revenue with a legal opinion from the Hon. Marc Lalonde, P.C., O.C.,
Q.C., former Minister of Justice of Canada, which is the third opinion
from an eminent legal authority finding that the CCRA "Big Brother"
database is contrary to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
