Public Servants Disclosure Protection Act

The Public Servants Disclosure Protection Act came into force on April 15, 2007.  Its purpose is to encourage employees in the public sector to come forward if they have reason to believe that serious wrongdoing has taken place and to provide protection to them against reprisal when they do so.  One requirement of this Act is that if wrongdoing is found as a result of a disclosure, the organization must promptly provide public access to certain information.  Specifically, it must describe: the wrongdoing, the recommendations made to the chief executive, and the corrective action taken by the organization’s chief executive.

In fulfilment of these requirements, this space has been created to report on all founded disclosures involving the PSC.
