Human Resources and Security Management Branch
Mandate
To establish corporate management frameworks, provide strategic leadership and guidance, policy direction, effective monitoring, and expert advice and programs in the areas of human resources, safety, security, and emergency management. The strategic intent is to make NRCan a workplace that is fair, enabling, healthy and safe and provide the best service to Canadians.
The Human Resources and Security Management Branch takes a leadership role in developing and facilitating the Department's adoption of best practices in the following functional areas of expertise:
- labour relations & classification
- staffing & recruitment
- learning & development
- official languages
- employment equity & diversity
- human resources planning
- safety & protection of personnel
- safeguarding of assets.
