What is a public consultation?
A public consultation provides the government with an opportunity to hear what Canadians are thinking on a particular issue. Responses to consultations help form policies and legislation that reflect the concerns of Canadians.
How do I comment on a consultation that is open to the public?
There a variety of ways to provide your feedback. This can include e-mail and online forms and surveys, 1-800 numbers, attending town hall meetings or workshops. To find out how to provide feedback to a specific consultation, follow the link for that consultation.
How do I get more information on a consultation?
The consultations listed here have Web pages that provide more detailed information -- just select the consultation in order to link to these details. If you still have further questions, contact information is also provided where applicable.
How is my privacy protected when I participate online?
All personal information created, held or collected by this department is protected under the federal  Privacy Act.
The privacy policy explains how the department protects the privacy of those who wish to contribute online to the departments initiatives and activities. If there are additional privacy issues they will be highlighted at the beginning of the consultation activity in question.
