The Cabinet Directive on Streamlining Regulation is the product of
over two years of collaboration with federal regulatory departments and
agencies, and public consultation with a wide cross-section of stakeholders.
Consultations included eight public workshops held across the country which
attracted a broad range of participants from industry, environmental and social
groups, labour organizations, academics, aboriginal groups, and interested
members of the public. A summary of the workshop findings is available below:
More than 60 organizations and individuals also made written submissions
regarding the Directive as part of the consultation process. These submissions
