The Canada Roundtable on the Internet Economy

On October 2, 2007, Industry Canada hosted a "Canada Roundtable on the Future of the Internet Economy" to coincide with other events during "OECD Week in Ottawa". The purpose of the Roundtable was to get input from Canadian representatives from business, government, academia and consumer groups on Canada's priorities and positions on the issues that will be addressed at the Organisation for the Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Ministerial Conference on the Future of the Internet Economy in Seoul, Korea, in June 2008.

To prepare participants for the Roundtable, three discussion papers were circulated to participants in advance of the event.

The Roundtable discussion was highly participative, informative and timely. It was chaired by David Johnston, President of the University of Waterloo and attended by some 70 high-level representatives.
