FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 2007-04-12 OTTAWA - The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) is pleased to announce that it is now accepting nominations for its 2008 Awards. Nominations are being sought for individuals, committees and/or organizations who have demonstrated remarkable leadership and commitment through their invaluable contributions to standards-related activities. Submissions are being considered for the following categories:
Information detailing each of these awards, the nomination process, eligibility criteria and past recipients, is available on the SCC website at: http://www.scc.ca/en/participate/awards/index.shtml. Nominations are due by November 9, 2007 The awards will be presented at a ceremony to be held on June 3, 2008 in St. John's, Newfoundland & Labrador, as part of the 3rd National Standards System (NSS) Conference. The Standards Council of Canada, a Crown corporation that promotes efficient and effective voluntary standardization in Canada, oversees the National Standards System (NSS) in which some 15,000 individuals participate in standards-development and advisory committees.
