Jean P. Carrière Award Print

The Jean P. Carrière Award recognizes distinguished service to Canadian standardization. It was under the presidency of the late Brigadier-General Jean P. Carrière, a distinguished engineer, that the architecture of the National Standards System was largely developed. Mr. Carrière served as President of the Standards Council of Canada from October 1971 to December 1977, during which time the essential plans and policies for the National Standards System were conceived and formulated.

The Jean P. Carrière Award was established in his honour, and has been conferred by the Standards Council since 1979, to individuals who have made a distinguished contribution to standardization.
