Held every two years, SIIT conferences gather standardization researchers representing various disciplines to exchange insights on standards and standardization. The 2007 edition of SIIT will be held from October 17 - 19 at the Universiy of Calgary in Calgary, Alberta and will feature a keynote presentation by SCC Governing Council Member, Mr. Charles Laflèche.

IE Canada 76th Annual Conference & Tradeshow

The 2007 Canadian Association of Importers and Exporters (IE Canada) annual conference and tradeshow will be held October 22-23 at the Doubletree International Plaza Hotel in Toronto, Ontario. The theme of this year’s conference is A new Commercial Vision for Trade and Customs. As part of the conference session on How to Minimize Risks in Importing Products from Emerging Markets, SCC Executive Director, Peter Clark, will provide an overview of the National Standards System including how the accreditation system works, and  the evolving role for product certification.
