Overview

Preventing Discrimination

The Commission is responsible for developing and conducting information programs to foster public understanding of the Canadian Human Rights Act, the Employment Equity Act, and the role and activities of the Commission.  Along with its normal information role, the Commission views this function as an important component in the drive to prevent discrimination.

An emphasis is also being put on outreach and raising awareness as a means to reduce the number of complaints received and the incidents of discriminatory activity.
