Educator Professional Development

Media Literacy

The NFB Mediatheque is pleased to offer a comprehensive educator professional development program. Available to groups of ten or more adults (up to 80), these programs are customized to meet the needs of your group and your curriculum. Our programs are suitable to both elementary and secondary school teachers and are linked to the Ontario Ministry of Education Curriculum for grades K-12. Whether you are looking for a hands-on instructional experience or an entertaining screening and discussion-based program, we will help you build the ideal session.

Choose from three different sessions or combine them to create a comprehensive, custom workshop experience.

The three main subject areas explored in these workshops include:

• Media Literacy: Using NFB films and resources in the classroom
  • (2 hours)
• Media Literacy: Teaching Video Production
  • (3 hours)
• Media Literacy: Teaching Animation Production
  • (3 hours)

Choose one, two or three workshop elements to build a suitable professional development program for your group. Programs are offered during the day, evenings and on weekends, depending on your needs and our availability.
