Official Canadian Hydrographic Service Digital Charts

CHS has two product lines of digital charts,

•  S-57 v3.1 Electronic Navigation Chart (ENC) vector format,
•  BSB v4.0 Raster Navigational Chart (RNC) format.

Both are based on our suite of Canadian paper charts.
The raster charts use the same numbering system as paper charts and the vector charts use the S-57 numbering scheme. Our price list uses paper chart numbers in both cases, for ease of cross-referencing.

In order to use your CHS Digital Charts, you need to get an Activation Code provided upon the registration of your product.

Purchasers of CHS Digital Charts CD are eligible to receive free updates, new charts and new editions for the area covered by that CD for a one year period from the date of purchase but the products must be registered first. For more information, consult the following link:

CHS also operates a Value-Added Reseller Program, allowing third-party access to CHS digital charts and data, under special licence, for the purposes of creating new products. For more information, please see this link.

• The CHS Value Added Reseller (VAR) Program

CHS may issue a Site Licence to organizations requiring access to CHS digital charts on multiple corporate workstations.  Under a Site Licence Agreement (SLA), CHS issues a licence and delivers digital charts and updates directly to the licensee.  To apply, please review the SLA and complete the application form contained within the agreement, at the link below:
