Synopsis and marine forecasts for the St Lawrence river from Cornwall 
to Anticosti and the Saguenay River issued by Environment Canada 
Montréal at 03:30 AM EST Friday 23 November 2007 for today with an 
outlook for Saturday.
Next forecasts issued at 03:30 PM.

Synopsis at 11:00 PM EST Thursday and forecasts positions for Friday 
08:00 PM EST.

An intense low pressure system near Magdalen Islands will move to lie 
to 200 miles northeast of Anticosti Island this evening.  North and 
east of the low pressure system winds are northeast strong to gale 
force.  West of the low pressure system winds become northwest strong 
to gale force.  Winds will diminish to moderate west well behind the 
low pressure system.

From Cornwall to Montréal.
Winds northwest 15 to 20 knots. Cloudy. A few light snow ending late 
this morning. Gradual clearing this evening. High minus 4.
Outlook for Saturday...Winds northwest 10 to 15 knots becoming 
southwest 10 to 20 near midday.

From Montréal to Trois-Rivières.
Winds northwest 10 to 20 knots. Cloudy with a few light snow. Gradual 
clearing this evening. High minus 4 near midday then temperature 
falling.
Outlook for Saturday...Winds south 5 to 10 knots becoming southwest 
15 to 20 in the evening.

From Trois-Rivières to Donnacona.
Winds northwest 10 to 20 knots. Visibilities fair in snow until late 
this morning. Temperature falling to minus 9 in the afternoon.
Outlook for Saturday...Winds southwest 5 to 15 knots.

From Donnacona to Île-aux-Coudres.
Winds north 10 to 20 knots becoming west 10 to 15 this evening. 
Visibilities fair in snow until late this morning. Temperature 
falling to minus 10 in the afternoon.
Outlook for Saturday...Winds west 10 to 15 knots.

From Île-aux-Coudres to Tadoussac.
Gale warning in effect...
Northeast winds 25 to 35 knots becoming northwest 15 to 25 early this 
morning. Visibilities fair in snow until midday. High minus 3.
Outlook for Saturday...Winds northwest 10 to 15 knots becoming 
southwest near midday.

From Chicoutimi to Tadoussac.
Gale warning in effect...
Winds west 25 to 35 knots increasing to 35 to 45 this morning. 
Visibilities fair in snow until early this evening. High minus 5.
Outlook for Saturday...Winds variable 5 to 10 knots.

From Tadoussac to Pointe-des-Monts.
Gale warning in effect...
Northeast winds 25 to 35 knots becoming north 20 to 30 early this 
morning. Visibilities poor in snow until early this morning then fair 
in snow today. Temperature steady near minus 3 in the afternoon.
Outlook for Saturday...Winds northwest 15 to 25 knots becoming light 
late in the day.

From Pointe-des-Monts to Anticosti - northern half.
Gale warning in effect...
Winds northeast 25 to 35 knots becoming northwest 20 to 30 this 
afternoon. Visibilities poor in snow until midday then fair in snow 
this afternoon. Temperature steady near minus 2 in the afternoon.
Outlook for Saturday...Winds northwest 20 to 30 knots diminishing to 
15 to 20 by afternoon.

From Pointe-des-Monts to Anticosti - southern half.
Gale warning in effect...
Winds northeast 30 to 40 knots becoming north 15 to 25 late this 
morning then becoming west 20 to 30 this afternoon. Visibilities poor 
in snow until late this evening. Temperature steady near minus 1 in 
the afternoon.
Outlook for Saturday...Winds west 20 to 25 knots.
