Travel and hospitality expenses

In December, 2003, the Government of Canada released guidelines with respect to the posting of travel and hospitality expenses of senior executives of government departments and government agencies.

As a commercial Crown corporation, BDC is governed by Part X of the Financial Administration Act and its own policies with regards to business expenses, which provide for the reimbursement of necessary, legitimate and appropriate business expenses.  In the interests of good governance and transparency, BDC has decided to disclose the travel and hospitality expenses for its relevant executives, while respecting issues related to privacy and confidentiality.
