Ms. B. Anne Wright of Port Perry, Ontario, has been appointed to the Canada Science and Technology Museum Corporation Board of Trustees.
Ottawa, December 29, 2006 – B. Anne Wright of Port Perry, Ontario, has been appointed by the Honourable Beverley J. Oda, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Status of Women, as part-time member of the Board of Trustees of the Canada Science and Technology Museum Corporation.
Ms. Wright is a chartered accountant by profession and worked independently in accounting, auditing, and consulting for small businesses, associations and charitable organizations, from 1971 to 1999. She is a former member of the Ontario Economic Council and has served as national president of the Canadian Diabetes Association (1990-1992) and as president of Diabetes Canada (1992-1993). She is currently a member of the board of trustees of the McMichael Canadian Art Collection and of the advancement committee of Trent University.
Ms. Wright has been appointed for a term of three years and she replaces Dr. Gail Beck from Ottawa, Ontario whose term had expired after serving eight years on the Board of Trustees.
The Canada Science and Technology Museum Corporation is responsible for preserving and protecting Canada’s scientific and technological heritage and promoting and sharing knowledge about that heritage.
