Appointment of a new Chair to the CSTMC Board of Trustees

OTTAWA, November 28, 2006 – James S. Paul, of Ottawa, has been appointed by the Honourable Beverley J. Oda, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Status of Women, as part-time Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Canada Science and Technology Museum Corporation.

Mr. Paul is a founder of iMPath Networks, an international technology company that specializes in the design manufacture, and sale of sophisticated video networking products. Currently interim president and chief executive officer, he has also served as iMPath's chief financial officer. Mr. Paul was a key player in the company's emergence as a leading provider of digital video networking solutions to a global marketplace.

An Ontario lawyer, Mr. Paul headed the legal department at Mitel, a public telecommunications company, earlier in his career. He then joined the senior management team at Newbridge Networks from start-up through its initial public offering. He subsequently became a managing partner of an Ottawa-based investment banking firm providing financial and business advisory services to Canadian technology companies.

A lifetime resident of the National Capital Region, Mr. Paul is a member and regular visitor with his three young children of all of the Corporation's museums.

The Canada Science and Technology Museum Corporation is responsible for preserving and protecting Canada’s scientific and technological heritage and promoting and sharing knowledge about that heritage. The Corporation and its three Museums – the Canada Agriculture Museum, the Canada Aviation Museum and the Canada Science and Technology Museum – tell the stories of Canadian ingenuity and achievement in science and technology and demonstrate how these accomplishments have contributed to the building of our country. The Corporation’s Web site address is www.technomuses.ca .
