Christena Keon Sirsly
Chief Strategy Officer

Christena Keon Sirsly oversees all strategic activities at VIA Rail Canada. She is responsible for raising the Corporation's profile with key stakeholders, expanding corporate alliances, maximizing current business opportunities and seeking new ones. She directs the development of all planning processes, including the Corporate Plan, the Strategic Plan, the Fleet Plan and the long-term Capital Plan, and manages VIA's capital programs. She has been Chief Strategy Officer since 2001.

Since arriving at VIA in 1985, Mrs. Sirsly has spearheaded a number of innovations, including the creation of VIA Preference, the establishment of VIA's successful Web site along with the development of VIA's Internet reservation system.

Born in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, Mrs. Sirsly has a B.Sc. from the Université de Montréal and an MBA in Marketing and Finance from Concordia University. She began her career in 1973 at Cement Canada Lafarge. In 1976 she joined Canada Steamship Lines, where she was promoted to director, Corporate Planning. In 1979 she moved to Voyageur Enterprises, where she successively headed three departments in the capacity of vice-president.
