United Arab Emirates - Dubai - security

The Dubai Air Show will be held at the Dubai International Airport from November 11 to 15, 2007. Thousands of foreign visitors are expected to attend, including senior foreign government officials and high-level business delegations. Increased security measures will be in place in and around event venues in the city, near the Dubai airport, around hotels, shopping centers and in other public areas. Expect significant traffic delays in areas surrounding the airport.

During this event and other such high profile international events, Canadians should always maintain a high level of personal security awareness at all times, carefully review their security arrangements, monitor news reports and follow the advice of local authorities.

Canadians seeking emergency consular assistance should call the Consulate of Canada in Dubai at 971 (4) 314-5555, or the Embassy of Canada in Abu Dhabi at 971 (2) 694-0300, or make a toll-free call to the Emergency Operations Centre, in Ottawa, at 800-014-0145.
