We invite you to attend CGNA's 13th National Conference on Gerontological Nursing sponsored by the Nova Scotia Gerontological Nurses Association.

Gerontological Nursing
The Future's So Bright

May 25 - 28, 2005

Gerontological nurses are advocates for the elder person and we use the opportunity of the National Biennial Conference to raise awareness of the difference gerontological nurses make in the health care and lives of older adults. Older adults are unique individuals with many years of life experience coping with the changes in aging that may make adapting to acute illness more difficult. As well this population has the potential of a multitude of chronic illnesses. Gerontological nurses possess the knowledge that elders have the ability to improve, and recognize the older person's need for independence and respect. The voice of the gerontological nurse needs to be raised. The conference provides educational support for the development of gerontological nursing knowledge for nurses who are caring for older adults in long-term care, acute care and the community.
