Objective

To advance the development and use of technologies to increase energy efficiency and reduce air emissions in new and existing housing, buildings and communities in Canada

Targeted ecoENERGY Technology Activities

Planned activities will

• support the development of energy-efficient and clean energy guidelines for new and retrofit housing, leading to more stringent provincial/territorial building codes, policies and standards
  
  
• support the development and integration of
  
  
  • advanced heating, ventilation, water heating and air conditioning systems
    
  • intelligent building controls
    
  • improved energy services including integrated co-generation, fuel cell and renewable energy technologies
    
    
• demonstrate the technical performance and air emissions reductions/avoidance for a range of technologies and systems in commercial settings

NOTE:  the planned activities described here will be reviewed and refined during the development of a strategic plan and a detailed implementation plan for this priority area.
