Canadian Apparel & Textile Industries Program

  • As of October 2004, assistance has been provided for 339* projects with an approximate total of $22.5 million.

    * Totals include 157 firm component projects approved by Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED) and valued at approximately $9.2 million as of March 31, 2004.

All approved Firm Component and National Initiative projects are automatically posted to this Web site 60 days after a Contribution Agreement (between either Industry Canada or Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED) and the applicant) is officially signed. Additional approved projects will, on a continuing basis, be added to the site once they have reached this 60-day milestone.

Other Projects in Development

  • Industry Canada is also working closely with our partners on a number of other initiatives, including:

    • Industry-wide branding and trade support initiatives for the textiles and apparel industries, including a series of outgoing and incoming trade missions in each of the three years of the program. Please check the Trade Shows/Missions/Events section of this website for forthcoming trade missions.
    • eCommerce and industry portals. Industry Canada is supporting development of national textiles and apparel portals and eCommerce awareness activities.
    • Innovation support. Industry Canada is working with stakeholders to develop and launch an Apparel Business Centre.
    • Best practices: CATIP is currently supporting best practices and diagnostic sessions for companies in partnership with industry associations.
