Assistant Commissioner Sandra Conlin joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in 1976. Originally, from Ottawa, A/Commr. Conlin held many varied positions before being appointed to the position of Ethics Advisor in March 2007. After completing basic training at Depot Division in Regina, Saskatchewan in August 1986, A/Commr. Conlin served at the Constable rank in various posts including "C" Division Drug Section in Montreal, Public Relations and International Liaison and Protective Operations. In 1992, A/Commr. Conlin was promoted to the Corporal rank as Executive Assistant to the President of Interpol, Commissioner N. Inkster. In 1994, A/Commr. Conlin was placed in charge of the Canada US Fugitive group within the International Liaison Branch. In 1997, she was promoted to Sergeant, "O" Division, Cornwall Detachment. In 1999, A/Commr. Conlin was transferred to Criminal Intelligence Service Canada, in charge of Administration and Training. In June 2001, A/Commr. Conlin was commissioned to the rank of Inspector and occupied the position of Deputy Director General of CISC. In December 2001, she was posted in the acting C/Supt. position as the Director General, CISC. In November 2002, she was officially promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendent in that position. A/Commr. Conlin holds certificates in Public Relations and Media Communications from Algonquin College and a certificate in Adult Education from St. Francis Xavier University. |
