What's New

There is always something new happening at CyberMuse!

Rideau Chapel
The Rideau Chapel is an important treasure in that it embodies both historical and architectural significance in Canada. CyberMuse introduces a new website that uncovers the origins of the Chapel through a timeline supported by historical photographs, a biography of the career of priest-architect Georges Bouillon and facts about the restoration and reconstruction process. Also featuring detailed 3D renderings by students from Carleton University who were participants in the Digital Architectural Reconstruction Program. Each component of the website brings a deeper understanding of the Rideau Chapel, an educational vehicle for all audiences.

Interactive Floor Plan
This innovative online program enables users to navigate throughout the Gallery's various exhibition spaces. Cyber-visitors can "enter" a specific gallery such as "Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven" and view the works exhibited. For those who are looking for works of art by an artist whose name escapes them, the artist index will point them in the right direction.
People planning to visit the Gallery on-site can create customized tours by theme or select from a list of Gallery prepared ready-made tours -"An Artist's Bouquet" for example - or simply choose to explore a particular gallery space. They can both print their tour map (personalized or standard version) to take to the Gallery and e-mail it to a friend.

Decoding Art

These symbols may be objects in the painting or may be represented by the formal elements such as colour, line, texture, composition, and space. Decoding Art has three main sections: The Decoding Quiz, the Artwork Comparisons and the Teachers Resources, which are all printable in PDF format.
