- of the 44 memoranda of understanding and letters of intent, 34 became firm contracts
- mission participants reported an additional 75 business deals after the mission, valued at $2 billion
- China continues to be an attractive and profitable market for Canadian companies -- on November 27, 1997, at a special signing ceremony during the annual Canada-China Business Council meeting in Toronto, Canadian companies signed 12 business deals with Chinese firms worth $2.3 billion
