British Columbia road network update

On behalf of the Canadian Council on Geomatics (CCOG), Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is pleased to announce the second update release of the British Columbia portion of National Road Network (NRN). The update was produced by and carried out in the framework of a maintenance agreement between NRCan and the Integrated Land Management Bureau (ILMB) of the Government of British Columbia.

This GeoBase NRN release is the second province-wide update for this dataset. It contains more than 1,500 km of new roads and many other attributive and geometric updates.

The release files were produced by the ILMB's Base Mapping and Geomatics Services Branch (BMGS) in consultation with the Centre for Topographic Information - Sherbrooke. The underlying road network data is continuously maintained through partnerships with private companies and increasingly, with local governments as well.

Data Change Management (DCM) files between current 2007-04 and previous 2006-11 releases are also provided for this dataset.
