Special tour of MASTERS of the Plains in RussianGatineau, Quebec, April 10, 2007 — On April 15, visit the Canadian Museum of Civilization's exhibition MASTERS of the Plains: Ancient Nomads of Russia and Canada with co-curator Elena Ponomarenko. This special tour will be given in Russian. Following the tour, join Ms. Ponomarenko for coffee, tea and a discussion about the exhibition. The visit will begin at the entrance to the exhibition and will last 1 hour.
MASTERS of the Plains examines 5,000 years and two peoples separated and united by their geography. One lived on the North American Great Prairies, the other on the Steppes of Europe and Asia. How did their unique cultures develop and diverge? MASTERS of the Plains reveals surprising answers. Featuring more than 400 artifacts from Canada and Russia, this major exhibition presents discoveries into these ancient cultures and their legacies. This exhibition is on until September 3, 2007.
