Storm the kitchen on Bastille Day! Gatineau, Quebec, July 11, 2007 — The Canadian Children’s Museum is celebrating France’s National Holiday in delicious fashion! Join us in the Studio on Saturday, July 14 and Sunday, July 15, when our special guests from the Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts Institute will help you bake your very own yummy French delicacy. The French National Holiday, also known as Bastille Day, commemorates the storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789, as well as the Fête de la Fédération that was celebrated in 1790, a year after the historic uprising that marked the birth of the modern French nation. Celebrate France is part of the Children's Museum's Kids in the Kitchen series, which gives children an opportunity to discover, prepare and eat traditional foods from around the world.
