Choir of lions at the Canadian Museum of CivilizationGatineau, Quebec, August 7, 2007 — On August 16, hear Canadian folk songs interpreted with spontaneity, energy and poise by Vancouver's renowned men's choir, Chor Leoni, at the Canadian Museum of Civilization.
Since its creation in 1992 by conductor Diane Loomer, Chor Leoni (choir of lions) has become a fixture in the upper echelons of the Canadian choral world. A combination of riveting stage presence, imaginative and eclectic programming, and quality a cappella singing has captivated audiences across Canada.
A cappella works remain the mainstay of the choir's repertoire, but the choir also provides bridges to music from around the world and is strongly committed to the commissioning, performance, and recording of new works by Canadian composers.
