What is the Compendium?

The Compendium is a collection of articles on specialized procedural topics. It is designed to help people who need to better understand the workings of the House of Commons and its committees.

The Compendium replaces the Précis of Procedure and the Fact Sheets on Procedure with a single on-line source of up-to-date procedural information.

This new reference site consists of general articles, from which users can link to more detailed articles. By choosing a subject in the left menu bar, you will be routed to the general article. From there you may click on links to specific topics and a new window will appear containing a detailed description. You may also choose to use our site-specific search option or browse the Site Map or the Alphabetical List of Articles to find the subject you are looking for.
