National Hydro Network (NHN)

Description / Documentation
A description of the National Hydro Network and links to the product standards and specifications, the complete metadata as well as other supporting documentation.
Implementation Strategy
After an initial production of NHN watersheds, a step-by-step production approach was established in order to make available NHN data to users as soon as possible. The NHN Implementation Strategy aims a progressive built of the NHN which takes into account data updating requirements.
Completeness Levels
NHN completeness levels materialize the NHN Implementation Strategy. This strategy is implemented through the creation of four NHN completeness levels, which are described in this section.
Work Units
NHN Work Units are subdivisions of the Canadian territory into watersheds, from which are produced and distributed NHN data. The delineation of these units, the source data from which they are derived and their nomenclature, are described in details in this section.

NHN Data Deviations
A detailed description of NHN data deviations or differences from NHN standards and specifications found in some NHN datasets.
Data Discrepancies
The NHN product is subject to a discrepancy detection process endorsed by contributing members of the Canadian Council on Geomatics (CCOG) and Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). A discrepancy observation results from an deviation in NHN data as opposed to the NHN standards and specifications. This section indicates how to report such an observation or get access to previously published NHN data observations.
