Telefilm Canada ("Telefilm") has a vested interest in
encouraging experienced and competent individuals -
including those from the film, television, new media
and music industries - to seek and accept Telefilm staff
positions. While it wishes to facilitate such regular
exchanges between the private and public sectors, Telefilm
must also minimize the possibility of real, potential
or apparent conflicts between the private interests
and public duties of its employees.
Before any offer of employment can take effect, successful
applicants undertake to sign a document certifying -
among other things - that they have read and understood
Telefilm's Conflict of Interest and Post-Employment
Code (the "Code") and that, as a condition of their
employment, they will observe the provisions therein.
Furthermore, depending on the nature of the outside
activities and the assets and/or liabilities declared
by successful candidates, Telefilm will determine the
possibility of real, potential or apparent conflicts
of interest based on the Code as well as applicable
guidelines and principles issued by the Treasury Board.
By sending their application to Telefilm, job applicants
accept and acknowledge that if Telefilm concludes that
there exists a real, potential or apparent conflict
between the private interests and the public duties
of prospective future employees, Telefilm retains the
right - at its sole discretion - to rescind any offer
and/or contract of employment, or to subject such offer
and/or contract of employment to any condition that
Telefilm deems fit.
