This is a report on the first full year of operations of the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada. The Agency supervises financial institutions with respect to meeting their obligations to consumers, and providing information that enables consumers to understand their rights and make informed financial decisions. Accomplishments include making mortgage documents more accurate and user-friendly and improving the level of disclosure of the terms and conditions for using credit cards. |
