School Success by Gender
|
A Catalyst for the Masculinist Discourse |
This report analyzes a new discourse focused on boys and men that developed during the 1990s, particularly in relation to school success. The research is based on articles published in Canadian, French, American, and Australian daily newspapers and mass-circulation Canadian magazines. The authors conclude that this discourse questions women’s rights and discredits feminism and make policy recommendations to encourage girls to keep working hard in school and, more generally, to protect the gains women have made. |
